1.    Promote the Adoption of Pets from your SPCA (or Humane Society) to friends, family and                          co-workers;

2.    Promote the spaying and neutering of pets.  Your SPCA can provide information/materials to help            you out;

3.    Become acquainted with local and provincial animal laws and regulations.  Report any violations                 immediately.  Your SPCA can help you obtain information about animal protection laws;

4.    Become a Member of the SPCA and learn more about animal welfare issues;

5.    Volunteer with your local SPCA;

6.    Inform others about the plight of animals.  There are many ways to spread the word - give gift                memberships, pass out materials at work, club meetings or events;

7.    Scan newspapers and magazines for articles about animals or animal abuse.  Write letters to                    organizations, politicians and the media.  Also, send a copy of the clippings and your letters to your            SPCA; and

8.    Encourage clubs to undertake animal or environment-related projects.  Arrange for talks by                        Veterinarians, Wildlife Experts of SPCA workers, show animal videos and films.
